The 2016 Tripura Round village surveys are under way.

This May-June, surveys are being conducted in three villages in Tripura as part of the Project on Agrarian Relations in India (PARI). The survey in the first village to be covered by the Tripura Round 2016 – Mainama in Dhalai district – is in progress.

The survey is a sample survey of households in two panchayat villages, Mainama and North Mainama. There are about 1451 households resident in 11 hamlets (para) in the two villages. The population of the two villages together is about 6288. The villages are part of the Tripura Tribal Autonomous District Council (TTADC) area. The main languages spoken in the village are Kak-Barak, Chakma, and Bengali.
