The Foundation for Agrarian Studies is conducting a survey of two villages in Bihar under ‘Project of Agrarian Relations in India.’ The two selected villages are Katkuian, West Champaran district, and Nayanagar, Samastipur district. These two villages were already surveyed by FAS in May-July 2012.
The objective of the survey is to collect primary data on socio-economic characteristics of two villages in the State. The data would assist in analysing the village-level production, production systems and livelihoods, and the socio-economic characteristics of different strata of the rural population.
A two-day pre-survey training was conducted at the office of FAS in Bangalore on June 5 and 6, by Arindam Das and Tapas Singh Modak.
The survey team constitutes of: Abhinav Kapoor, Arindam Das, Awanish Kumar, Gaurav Bansal, Girija Shanker, Mrityunjay Pandey, Nageshwar Bansode, Niadri S. Dhar, Nilesh Kumar, Pinki Ghosh, Rakesh Kumar Mahato, Ritam Dutta, Shubhojit Patra, Shruti Nagbhushan, and Veydaant Khanna.
