FAS Team Visits Nalgonda as part of the project “Digital Agriculture in India”
As part of the ongoing project “Digital Agriculture in India”, a team from FAS recently carried out a field visit to Nalgonda district in Telangana to study the application of digital technologies in agriculture. The field work had a specific focus on agricultural drones, digital extension services, and the development of digital public infrastructure.
During the visit, the team conducted qualitative case studies and semi-structured interviews with the state agriculture department, Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Agricultural Research Station of the Telangana Agricultural University, input dealers, drone sellers, drone service providers, farmers, FPOs, and women SHG members. The data collected through these interviews is expected to significantly contribute to the ongoing research under the project.
The FAS team consisted of Tapas Modak, Joint Director, Sai Chandan Kotu, Senior Research Assistant, Nagesh Maurya, Research Assistant, and Charan Visirikayala, Field Investigator.
