Yoshifumi Usami, Research Fellow, Center for Evolving Humanities, The University of Tokyo, visited FAS for a week from June 26 to July 3, 2017. During this visit, Professor Usami mentored some of the young researchers in the Foundation on some topics of their interest. He worked closely with Arindam Das, Senior Programme manager and overall coordinator for the Project on Agrarian Relations in India at the Foundation, on the WRRI data published by the Labour Bureau. They would soon collaborate to prepare a research paper based on this data.

Professor Usami also delivered a lecture on the different dimensions of NSSO data at the office of the Foundation on June 29, 2017.

The Foundation is happy to collaborate with Professor Usami in his research and hopes to host him again in his next visit to Bangalore.
